An all round very good, very tight band creating a great album. Andy Powell’s & Ted Turner’s guitar playing is excellent – strong soloing, harmonization & synchronization (especially on “Throw Down the Sword). Martin Turner’s vocals & bass and Steve Upton’s drums are essential to the tone & feel of the album.
The album flows seamlessly between softer reflective moods and harder rock passages. While you can pick songs individually to suit your various playlist needs, this is an album that is truly appreciated by putting on the headphones and letting it play through. The original album ends with “Throw Down the Sword”, which, for me, is a perfect end to the listening session. The additional songs contained herein are from a subsequent release.
