There is just something about Reggae music that has a real appeal to me. Whether it is the pulsing rhythm, the thumping bass, horns and/or the social messages in many of the songs, I flat out enjoy it. It feels like summer & parties. There is no better soundtrack to be playing in a used record store when I’m browsing for albums – it feels right & I’m sure I’m more likely to buy something when reggae is playing in the background.
I did not grow up with reggae, so I look forward to you opening my ears to new artists. The few that I have here form my basic perspective of the genre, and of course Bob Marley was the gateway. There is enough here to have a good little listen, and certainly enough to sprinkle throughout a larger playlist when you are looking to have a broader sample of music in your playlists.
