Melancholia of Lost Love

Melancholia of Lost Love

Time to get off the hard rock mainline, and take the siding into lost love & melancholia.

Most of us have experienced lost love at some point in our lives and succumbed to those angst-y feelings.  Music is often a refuge, whether it’s to escape those feelings or just to wallow deeper into them.  This set is for wallowing.

It’s a longer set (cuz who really wants to wallow for just 15 minutes?) consisting of songs that I’ve turned to for support.

Thankfully those days are past as I’ve found my true soulmate (love you BGB!).  However, there are times that memories kick in & moods come back, and there is a certain pleasure in returning to those times and feelings.  Is it keeping us young, thinking back?  Are the feelings as intense, but less painful because we’ve made peace with them?  That much psychoanalysis is beyond my pay grade.  All I know is that I enjoy delving into these songs & moods occasionally; it’s somehow fulfilling.

Wallow away, my friends.
