I’ve mentioned that my musical tastes have evolved greatly over the years. I’ve come to appreciate the talent, composition & playing complexity and overall fun that lies in every musical genre. There are a few genres that still elude me, but you are not obligated to like everything that crosses your path; you just need to be civil & respectful of it.
Jazz is an interesting beast to me. There are so many styles and sub-genres that I think most folks can find a style that they like. I’m certainly no expert nor an in-depth experienced listener, but I do enjoy listening to jazz in certain circumstances. It is not in my “go to” playlists, but I have to say that there is a certain sophistication (faux or otherwise) in enjoying cocktails on a sunny deck or bar patio with jazz playing in the background.
