This playlist is meant to just rock out. There are a few lesser known songs from well known bands and songs from bands that are lesser known, but deserve air time. The time frame also spans a few decades, which shows good music is timeless.
There are a few of my favourite tracks on this one. “Move Over” is a cover by Slade of Janis Joplin’s song. I like both versions, but this one kicks much more under Slade’s glam rock treatment. Santana’s cover of The Zombies “She’s Not There” is updated with his unique guitar style. And how can you go wrong with a cover of the Gilligan’s Island theme? I just laughed when I first heard it, and snuck it anonymously onto many mixed tapes I made for friends.
Up the volume a notch or two, and set the controls for the heart of the sun!
