I have playlists that have focused on guitars, guitar “cousins” and keyboards. I thought it time to look at songs where the guitars & keyboards partner to create a great song.
There are certainly the heavy hitters present here (Deep Purple, Kansas, The Doors) that made their reputations based on strong keyboards and guitars. There are also songs where either the guitar or keyboards have an iconic place in the song; it just wouldn’t be that song without that critical piece. Can you imagine “Hold The Line” by Toto without that pounding piano at the start?
