I was thinking about summer playlists, given that it was a nice sunny, warm day on the deck. I thought it might be fun to pick a year & see what songs were hot during that summer. I thought 1970, then immediately had a temporal aneurysm as I realized that was 50 freakin’ years ago!
As I put this together, I was mildly surprised at how many classic songs were out in that summer. I’m going to look at a few more years to create playlists, and it will be interesting to see if those years can match the quantity of quality summer songs (subjective assessment of course!). I also found that some original recordings were not available on Spotify, only re-recordings. These were not included as the re-recording did not match the original out in 1970, so it doesn’t really qualify, which is a shame.
