I’m a big fan of psychedelic music. As Jim Stafford said, “Take a trip and never leave the farm.” For me, the appeal lies in the wash of sound, the improvisations and techniques used by the bands. A good psychedelic song is enjoyed equally in normal & enhanced modes.
This playlist focuses on the more basic psychedelia of the 1960’s and doesn’t stray too far into those songs that can mess with you. There’s no real order to this; you can play straight on or shuffle.
There were a few songs I intended to include, but couldn’t find them on Spotify. If you can, please let me know & I’ll add them. Otherwise, you may wish to look them up elsewhere. If you’re a fan of this genre, you shouldn’t be disappointed.
- The Apple-Glass Cyndrom – Someday
- Complex – Norwegian Butterfly
- Gale Garnett & The Gentle Reign – Water Your Mind
- Homer – Dandelion Wine
- Little Boy Blues – Seed of Love
I intended to include “It’s All a Part of Me” by Hydro Pyro, but the version I found here had some background noises that were not on my version. I think these could be a distraction, hence the exclusion.
